Preparatory Programs for Private K-12 Schools
Prep for Prep
is a talent search for minority students from New York City. It
prepares them for placement at private K-12 schools in the city and
boarding schools in the northeast United States. Services are provided
for approximately 150 fifth and sixth graders (for day school
placement) and 75 seventh graders (for boarding school placement). Services
include peer support, mentoring and post-placement services. Students
are nominated by more than 500 New York City area schools.
The Oliver Scholars Program recruits talented African-American and Hispanic seventh-grade students from New York and prepares them for admission to some of the best private schools in the northeast United States. Students must earn a score of 3 or 4 on the New York City math and reading test to be admitted to this training program.
